Join us for a day of celebration, connection, and empowerment at the See Me Neurodiverse Community Fest in Prior Lake, MN! Whether you identify as neurodivergent, are an ally, or are simply curious about neurodiversity, this event is open to all.

What is the Neurodiverse Community Fest?

See Me is thrilled to host our inaugural See Me Neurodiverse Community Fest in Prior Lake on Sunday, September 8, 2024!

As a nonprofit dedicated to supporting neurodiverse families, See Me Neurodiverse aims to foster inclusivity and raise awareness about neurodiversity in our community and beyond. We thought holding an event dedicated to neurodiversity would be the perfect way to bring the community together and introduce available resources.

Our Neurodiverse Community Fest is a wonderful opportunity to:

  • Showcase resources for neurodivergent individuals and families.

  • Build connections among parents, children, and community members.

  • Educate attendees about neurodiversity and how we can support one another.

Sensory-Friendly Spaces

Joy Mobile

The Joy Mobile is a one-stop sensory experience designed to help reset and re-engage. Developed in partnership with designers and those with lived experience, and those raising and teaching the neurodiverse community.

  • The Joy Mobile provides a range of supportive sensory experiences.

  • It's an environment to satisfy and reset acoustic, visual, tactile, and olfactory senses.

  • Creates a one-stop space that provides safety, relief, and focus for those who are neurodivergent.

Sensory-Friendly Tents

In addition to the Joy Mobile sensory experience, we will also have sensory-friendly tents for anyone who may need to take a sensory-break. This space will have tools like weighted blankets, crash pads, exercise balls, fidget toys, noise-canceling headphones, and more.

A big thank you to Duck Cup Memorial and Note-Able Music Therapy for sponsoring the sensory-friendly spaces.

Crafts, Coloring, & Chalk

Let Your Creativity Flow

We’ve created a special area with coloring pages and chalk for attendees of all ages to enjoy. This space is designed with neurodiversity in mind, offering a calming and creative outlet that allows individuals to express themselves in a way that feels comfortable. Coloring and drawing with chalk are not only fun activities but also therapeutic, helping to reduce stress and promote focus. This area is a welcoming environment where everyone can take a moment to relax and engage their senses in a soothing, inclusive way.

Get Lost in the Bubbles

Our bubble area is a playful and soothing space. Bubbles have a mesmerizing quality that can captivate attention and provide a sense of calm, making this area an ideal spot for those who might need a sensory break or who love to play in the bubbles.

Play in the bubble fun from the bubble machine or make your own bubbles from all the different wand options.

Dance Party

Show Off Your Dance Moves

In addition to our quiet spaces, we’re excited to offer a sensory-friendly dance party that everyone can enjoy. This dance area will be set off to the side, with the music played at a lower volume to ensure it’s not overwhelming. We’re also keeping it very simple - avoiding flashing lights and other intense visual effects, creating a more comfortable atmosphere for those who may be sensitive to loud sounds or bright lights.

This space allows attendees to experience the joy of dancing and movement in a way that’s accessible and enjoyable for all, celebrating neurodiversity while ensuring everyone feels at ease.
